Muslim Family Camp 2008
Spring Camp Activity sponsored by Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio chapters of Indonesian, Malaysian, Singaporean and Muslim American Society (MAS) communities.
Alhamdulillah, all praises to Allah SWT as the annual event of Muslim Family Camp has arrived again for this year 2008. This event is held during the spring break and nowadays become one of the favorite activities among the Muslim communities of Indonesia, Malaysia and MAS (Muslim American Society) from Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio. This is the third year these three communities work together shoulder to shoulder to organize the event. The activities are designed for the whole family members from the infants to the elders as well as the brothers and sisters from different ethnicity. InshaAllah, everybody will enjoy the activities as we all have the combination activities between learning our deen, strengthen our relationship and having fun.
InshaAllah, this year we hope will be more participants and with more activities and programs involved. We ask Allah SWT to bless us with unity and strengthen the brotherhood and sisterhood among us.
Theme
"INNAMAL MU’MINOONA IKHWAH"
"Indeed believers of man and woman are brothers and sisters"
The Theme of the Muslim Family Camp or MFC2008 this year is: “Ukhwah Islamiyah”. The meaning of the theme we chosen is the brotherhood and sisterhood in Islam. We hope from this camping activity that will be attended all of brothers, sisters and their whole family members will strengthen our relationship among the Muslim.
Goals of MFC2008:
a. To strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood among the participants as well as among the communities.
b. Strengthen the bonds between parents and their children.
c. Appreciate and enjoy Allah's creations;
d. To educate the adults and youth the role of family in Islam from the example of our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW.
Speakers
The Committee always invited the scholars or Sheikhs to give the lectures as a part of our camping activities. Two well known and popular Sheikhs among the communities have confirmed to join us in this MFC2008:

Group Camp Facility
The group camp contains a total of 9 buildings with 96 beds:
1 group dining hall and kitchen with freezers, refrigerator, microwave, oven and 10 compatment stoves, ice cube maker, sinks, chairs and tables.
4 cabins, each cabin has 20 beds
1 cabin has 14 beds with bathroom
1 room attached to dining hall with 2 beds
1 cabin as the activity, sport and games hall
2 buildings bathroom and toilet: one for sisters and one for brothers
approximately we can fit 60-70 tents sorrounding the buildings
Please note that cabins will be allocated for sisters especially for the one with small children and then the elders. We are requesting for all families to bring tent(s) to accomodate the whole family members
